HYDERABAD: Swine flu has claimed two more lives in the last 48 hours taking the death toll in Telangana to 62 since January 1 this year.
The victims included a 47-year-old man from Kondur mandal in Mahbubnagar, and a 51-year-old farmer from Sangareddy in Medak. Both of them died at the Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday, but their swab samples tested positive on Thursday, said health authorities.
Meanwhile, the Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) confirmed 54 more positive cases, including three from Andhra Pradesh. The number of positive cases reported in the two states since January 1 now stands at 1,792 with around 1,700 from Telangana alone.
