BHOPAL: A constable on duty was stabbed for intervening when three people were fighting on Wednesday night. A attempt to murder case was registered at Jehangirabad police station of the city. The three accused are on the run.
This is not the first incident when a man in khaki has been attacked on city streets. Close to a dozen such incidents have taken place in the city for some time.
In the fresh incident, cop Shailendra Singh Chandel, 28, a resident of Nishatpura area, is posted in police control room.

He has gone to Rashidiya School near Barkhedi where a company of 23rd battalion is camping to give them their duty schedule and was returning to police control room on bike when he spotted three youths fighting.
When he tried to settle the issue, the trio attacked him and one of them stabbed him in abdomen. All three escaped from spot while onlookers rushed the cop to hospital where his condition was stated to be critical, but stable.
The assailant while stabbing him said Rahul bolte hai mujhe. Police said Rahul is a goon besides two other accused are yet to be identified.
There are CCTV close to the spot of crime, but cops said it could not capture the incident. Officials said the teams are on job to nab Rahul and two others.
