Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson (21) talks with injured DT Darnell Dockett during the final seconds of their 35-6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in NFL action at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Dec. 21, 2014.

Darnell Dockett remained a defensive lineman without a team Wednesday evening, but it appears he has an affinity for the NFC West. Or vice versa.

Released by the Cardinals last Friday, Dockett visited the 49ers on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, ESPN reported that Dockett was expected to decide between the 49ers and Cardinals by the end of the day.

That apparently didn't happen. Two other NFC West teams, the Seahawks and Rams, also are interested, according to reports.

The Cardinals want Dockett back and have offered a 1-year contract worth $2.5 million with incentives that could increase that to $4 million. It's unknown if the 49ers or any other team has made an offer.

Dockett, who turns 34 in May, was due to make $6.55 million in salary in 2015, the last year of a contract signed in 2010. He missed all of last season with a torn ACL, but played in all but two regular season games in the 10 seasons prior.
