Bahraini Bapco, EMC sign agreement

(MENAFN) Bapco and US-based EMC signed an agreement through which the Bahraini company gets a centralized, tapeless backup environment using EMC's 'next generation data protection solutions', Gulf Daily News reported.

Bapco, the Bahrain Petroleum Company, used EMC's 'Data Domain' systems for backup, archiving and recovery capabilities to sustain a highly scalable data protection structure.

The tapeless infrastructure fosters improved backup storage utilization, drive backup and recovery performance while saving significant cost and simplifying administration.

"As a result of this deployment, Bapco has been able to simplify day-to-day backup operations and renew its confidence in recoverability of critical data and applications when needed," Bapco's general manager for finance and IT said in a statement.
