New single-copy Wu-Tang album seized at JFK

Wu-Tang Clan’s coveted, single-copy new album “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” was seized by customs at JFK Airport after band members brought it in a locked box and forgot the key.

Rapper RZA and Wu-Tang producer Cilvaringz spoke at MoMA PS1 at an event hosted by auction site Paddle8. They said when the album arrived Sunday with Cilvaringz from Morocco, the box was held for more than three hours because they couldn’t confirm the contents. Agents finally ran it through TSA’s “rarely used highest-strength scanner.”

The album, described as a unique work of art, is being sold via Paddle8. Bids have hit seven figures, but the buyer cannot release the songs commercially for 88 years.
