YSRC functionaries will stage rasta rokos in all constituency headquarters on Thursday, expressing solidarity with Kamalapuram MLA P. Raveendranatha Reddy, whose hunger strike demanding completion of Galeru Nagari project and Sarvarayasagar reservoir in Kadapa district entered the fourth day on Wednesday.
Irrigation projects
The protest was mooted to exert pressure on the government to make adequate budgetary allocations to irrigation projects in the State budget to be presented on March 12, YSRC district president A. Amarnath Reddy said at Veerapunayunipalle. He also called upon farmers and people to join the stir.
Kadapa MLA S.B. Amzath Basha and Kadapa Mayor K. Suresh Babu charged the government with failing to pressurise the Centre to fulfil the promises made during bifurcation.
