ONGC employees of Rajahmundry led by Debasis Sanyal, Executive Director-Asset Manager, on Wednesday pledged to rededicate themselves to the cause of safety, health and protection of environment, on the occasion of the 44th National Safety Week celebrations organised on the premises of Base Complex, Rajahmundry. The week has been thematised as “Build a Safety Culture for Sustainable Supply Chain.”
Referring the theme, Mr. Sanyal said, the men behind the supply chain were more important than the machines in the chainHe said ‘safety of life’ and protection of environment were guiding principles for exploration and production operations of the ONGC. Advanced safety technologies were used in operations periodically to capitalise on the geological challenges, he added.
Mr. Sanyal urged the people to extend cooperation in its operations and requested people to call toll free no: 1800-425-7535 to inform any damage to the company’s property . As part of the National Safety Week, the company is organising a road show at Morampudi Junction on March 6 at 11.00 a.m. and several safety awareness programmes for schoolchildren.

Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (NFCL) observed the 44th National Safety Week on its premises here. Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories J. Siva Sankar Reddy, who was the chief guest, observed that human errors were the main cause behind many accidents that occur in industries. Underscoring the need for providing training in hazard management to all the workers including contract staff, he said that the target of zero accident could be achieved only when the entire workforce was aware of the safety issues. National Safety Day was observed in various industries including Trimex Sands Private Limited and Nagarjuna Agrichem Private Limited on Wednesday. TSPL vice-president (Operations) Rafi Ahmed said that prevention of accidents was possible only with the observation of safety rules strictly. The company liaison wing head V. Sivasankar said that the employees should vow to follow safety rules and come out with their ideas for smooth functioning of the organisations.
