NCP leader’s house raided by ACB, booked in assets case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau raided his residence on Wednesday morning.

A criminal offence has been registered against Subhash Jagtap, who is an NCP house leader in the PMC and was the party’s candidate from Parvati Assembly seat, in a disproportionate assets case. The Anti-Corruption Bureau raided his residence on Wednesday morning.

The ACB was conducting an open inquiry into a complaint that alleged that Jagtap had accumulated assets disproportionate to the known source of income. The findings of the raid on Wednesday morning showed that the total income of the family from known sources of income minus the expenditure from 1992 till date was Rs 1.41 crore but the ACB found the total wealth to be of Rs 1.87 crore, resulting in unaccounted wealth of Rs 46 lakh.

Further probe into real estate and other properties owned by Jagtap, his wife and other members of family revealed unaccounted wealth of Rs 80 lakh, bringing the the total unaccounted wealth to be Rs 1.26 crore. An offence in this regard has been registered at Sahakarnagar police station under Prevention of Corruption Act. Superintendent of Police Digambar Pradhan is supervising the investigation.

ACB chargesheets Former cop in DA case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has chargesheeted a former police inspector and four  members of his family accused of amassing property beyond their known sources of income. Bhausaheb Andhalkar, who is also a suspect in the RTI activist Satish Shetty murder case, was arrested in May 2012. ACB officials have claimed that Andhalkar was holding unaccounted assets worth Rs 52.2 lakh.
