When India Test captain Virat Kohli abused Hindustan Times reporter Jasvinder Sidhu in Perth on Tuesday, he apparently mistook him for The Indian Express’s National Sports Editor Sandeep Dwivedi. Hindustan Times has registered a protest with the ICC and BCCI about Kohli’s abusive behaviour.

Dwivedi’s report on July 19, 2014 had said that the BCCI had given permission to Kohli to bring his girlfriend, actress Anushka Sharma, on the England tour.
“I had reported that the BCCI had allowed girlfriends to travel with players for the first time. Kohli expressed his displeasure to me. I told him the report just stated a fact. I thought the matter was over till I heard about him losing his temper at the nets, mistaking a fellow reporter for me,” said Dwivedi.
