Wozniacki through to second round in Malaysia

Caroline Wozniacki eased past Chinese qualifier Yafan Wang 6-3 6-1 to reach the second round of the Malaysian Open on Tuesday.

Wozniacki suffered a first-round exit in her Malaysian debut two years ago, but did not look back this time around after securing an early break.

Second seed Sabine Lisicki and third seed Casey Dellacqua of Australia were not so fortunate.

Lisicki, with 10 double faults, succumbed to Alexandra Dulgheru of Romania 6-4 7-5, and Dellacqua fell to wild card Su-Wei Hsieh of Taiwan 7-5 2-6 6-3. Hsieh also beat the Australian en route to the 2012 title.

Also progressing were seeds Jarmila Gajdosova, Julia Goerges and Klara Koukalova, who ended a four-match losing streak.
