TVS Apache cc Variant coming early next year

SPIED: Mysterious TVS motorcycle spotted testing in India, is it the new Apache?

Upcoming TVS Apache

It isn’t a secret anymore that TVS has partnered with BMW to make a 300cc motorcycle which could see launch maybe sometime next year. However, they are also about to upgrade their sole performance offering, the Apache. On the other hand, the Draken concept that was earlier showcased at the Auto Expo last year could also make a surprise entry if it doesn’t follow the footsteps of their other concept, the Taurus. Now, someone has snapped a mysterious TVS test mule doing the rounds in the South of India. Although reports claim that this could be the new product that is being jointly developed between TVS and BMW, we think otherwise.

While only the rear section of the bike is clearly visible, the test mule could well be the upcoming new Apache or an entirely new 180-200cc motorcycle from TVS. Here’s what affirms our belief. With an MRF Zapper like pattern, the rear tyre looks very similar to the 130 section unit that does duty on the Honda CBR 150 R. Further, the up swept exhaust has a very small opening, confirming that it isn’t exhaling gases coming out from a larger capacity engine. The rider stance is upright, handlebar seems like a conventional unit rather than clip-ons, and although they might be dummy, the RVM’s and tail lights appear to be borrowed from a commuter bike. However, what confirms that it isn’t a commuter bike either, is the stepped rear seat and the presence of a rear disc brake held together along the rear wheel with the help of a box-section swingarm that takes care of rear suspension duties along with a mono shock.
