In a recent quiz we were asked who the 100th man to win a world championship Grand Prix was. We got it wrong - and missed the answer! Who was it? asked Jamie Bailey

There's a small distinction that needs to be made here: to get as many as 100 different winners, you have to include the 10 Americans who won the Indianapolis 500 while it was part of the F1 world championship, which it was between 1950 and 1960.

If you do that, then the 100th man to win a world championship race was Finland's Heikki Kovalainen, who drove his McLaren to victory in the Hungarian GP in 2008.

By this yardstick, there have now been 105 different winners, the latest new one being Daniel Ricciardo in 2014. Others might say there have only been 95!

Kovalainen has not yet won another GP, and remains one of 23 drivers to have won just one (or 32 if you count the Indy 500). The only current driver on that list is Pastor Maldonado, who won the Spanish GP in 2012.
