Glenwood Springs Becomes Fifth Dropzone to Skydive Colorado
Glenwood Springs, Colorado (PRWEB) March 04, 2015 -- Colorado offers some of the most stunning skydive dropzones in the country, and the Glenwood Springs Municipal Airport is now a top contender on the list. A newly relocated company, Roaring Fork Skydivers, has put the city on the map as a hub for some of the most scenic tandem skydiving in the state.
Operating out of the Sopris Aviation Hangar at the municipal airport, Roaring Fork Skydivers offers thrill seekers the experience of a lifetime. Riding to altitude, jumpers are treated to views of the Continental Divide, the Maroon Bells, Aspen Ski Resort and Glenwood Springs. It may arguably be the best vantage point to watch the Colorado River as it cuts through Glenwood Canyon and joins the Roaring Fork.
Jeremy Divan, owner of Roaring Fork Skydivers (formerly Independent Skydive Company), recently relocated his company from Boulder to Glenwood Springs. Divan could not be more excited about his introduction to the Roaring Fork Valley. This new marker on the Colorado skydive map allows mountain denizens an alternative to the long and often traffic laden drive to Denver, the next closest dropzone.
"The views here cannot be beat. I have jumped all over the world… this is a special place,” said Divan. “It’s the most scenic place to skydive in the state.”
Divan, a former US Marine and internationally renowned skydiver, started skydiving at age 28 and has over 7,000 jumps on his impressive resume. He has an impeccable safety record and a great passion for his work.
VP of Tourism Marketing for Glenwood Springs, Lisa Langer, is excited about the impact Divan’s business could have on Glenwood tourism: “It’s wonderful to be able to market skydiving when attracting new visitors to Glenwood Springs. The fact that there are tandem jumps appeals to thrill seekers of all ages.”
Open season for skydivers in Glenwood begins this Friday, March 6th. You must be 18 years of age to complete a tandem jump. Discounts are available for locals, military, firefighters and police, seniors and industry workers, please inquire.
