Assembly budget session from March 6, Budget on March 13

The 13th session of the state assembly will begin with the governor's address on March 6.The budget will be presented on March 13 and the session will conclude on April 9.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 13th session of the state assembly will begin with the governor's address on March 6. The budget will be presented on March 13 and the session will conclude on April 9.
Speaker G Karthikeyan will not be attending the budget session as he is undergoing treatment in Bengaluru. The speaker could not attend the previous assembly session due to ill health.
Deputy speaker N Sakthan will be heading the budget session.
Apart from budget presentation, 11 days have been set aside for debating various legislations. The business advisory committee will take a final decision on the bills during these 11 days.
On March 4, a meeting of all party leadersin the legislature will be convened to ensure smooth conduct of the budget session, particularly in the wake of the LDF's decision not to allow finance minister K M Mani to present the budget this time. Following the bar bribery controversy, the opposition had decided to boycott K M Mani.
The 23-day session will see a debate on the governor's address and discussions on the budget will span three days.
Speaker G Karthikeyan will not be attending the budget session as he is undergoing treatment at Banglaore. Karthikeyan had not attended the last assembly session too due to ill health, for even a single day even though he was present in his office. Deputy speaker N Sakthan will be heading the Budget session.

Apart from the Budget presentation and passing of the vote on account, in this session 11 days have been kept for various legislations. The business advisory committee will take a final decision on the bills which have to be taken for legislation during these 11 days.
