Brahmotsavam begins at Nemali temple

Brahmotsavam of Sri Venugopala Swamyvari Devasthanam began on a grand note here on Tuesday.

The celebrations commenced with ‘ankurarpana’. The temple priests performed ‘ashtakalasa sthapana’ and presented new silk robes to the presiding deity. The temple will organise the celebrations till March 8 and conduct various programmes and rituals as part of the Brahmotsavams.

Temple Executive Officer Gelli Harigopinath Babu said that ‘Kalyanotsavam’ of presiding deity would be performed on March 5. The rituals begin with ‘suprabhata seva’. The temple priests would take out a procession with the processional deities in the village. The actual ‘kalyanam’ would be performed at 11 p.m., he said. The temple would perform ‘rathotsavam’, ‘pallaki seva’ (vasantotsavam) and ‘pavalimpu seva’ during the festival.
