AIADMK cadres take out milk pot procession

Led by Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare S. Sundararaj and Minister for Handlooms and Textiles S. Gokula Indira, more than 5,000 women members of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam took out a procession, carrying milk pots, and offered prayers at Muthalamman Temple for the return of party leader Jayalalithaa as Chief Minister.

As many as 5,067 women, led by the two Ministers, took out the procession and offered special prayers after performing milk abishekam to the presiding deity at the temple here on Tuesday.

Before taking out the procession through the thoroughfares of the town, the women gathered at Kumaran Padithurai (riverbed) in Vaigai river and offered worship to the milk pots.

A large number of party volunteers joined the procession and prayed for the long life of Ms. Jayalalithaa and her return as Chief Minister.

Paramakudi Municipality Chairperson Keerthika Muniasamy, district party secretary Dharmar, former DMK MP Ritheesh and Ramanathapuram Municipal Vice-Chairman Kavitha Sasikumar were among those who took part in the procession and offered prayers.

Mass feeding

After special prayers at the temple, the Ministers launched mass feeding at two marriage halls.
