The Caribbean island of Nevis is home to the first beachside villa property on the island, Paradise Beach Nevis.
“Paradise Beach Nevis is the perfect addition to the island’s offerings because it’s unlike anything else on the island,” says general manager, Steve Tyson. “Our unique approach to the villa experience will cater to the destination’s high-end travelers without sacrificing the full-service experience.”
The five-star, luxury property offers only seven, 3- or 4-bedroom villas. The 3-bedroom villas, at 2,900 sq. ft., sleep up to six guests and feature two king bedrooms and one queen; the 4-bedroom villa, at 3,400 sq. ft., sleeps eight and offers two king bedrooms and two queen. All villas include an outdoor dining pavilion and a private swimming pool. Other amenities include a living & dining room, a cabana, full kitchen, outdoor shower, laundry room and office station.
This villa property offers in-villa spa treatments and concierge, butler, and private chef services—chefs can prepare breakfast for $65 per hour; or lunch/dinner for $85 per hour in the villa.
If guests are looking for minimal movement while on vacation, they can park their beach bag on a chaise lounge at the property’s private Beach Bar, but if outdoor adventure is top of mind, guests can experience a ton of activities from birdwatching to kayaking, sailing, and scuba diving. Expected to open this spring in the Bahamas is Rosewood at Baha Mar. Situated on Nassau’s Cable Beach, this British colonial architecture-style property features 185 beach-view guestrooms and suites, five beachfront villas, a Sense spa, four restaurants and bars.

1920s glamour
In San Juan, Puerto Rico, a new dame is making a name for herself in the swanky Condado neighborhood, the Condado Vanderbilt. Well, she isn’t necessarily a new dame, as she first came on to the stage as a hotel back in 1919. Of course, she’s had quite a few reincarnations since then, and finally, this past December, she opened her doors ready to once again welcome guests. This 360-room hotel, including 127 suites, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it becomes evident that this property has quite a story to tell as soon as one sets eyes on the pair of grand winding staircases that greet guests when they walk into the lobby. They are original to the hotel, as are many details throughout the property, and although the hotel pays detailed homage to the 1920s era, it still feels very contemporary. Recommend paid a visit to the hotel last month, and a few things we suggest your clients shouldn’t miss include the hammam experience at The Spa at Condado Vanderbilt; a dip in the infinity pool that overlooks the rock-laced shoreline; lunch at Ola Beach Front Bistro; and a cocktail at Vanderbilt Court. We didn’t get a chance to dine at 1919, but we’d love to go back to try the “locally-rooted” cuisine. Our rooms?
