PLATA LATINA ANNOUNCES CORPORATE UPDATE

Plata Latina Minerals Corp. has appointed Letitia Wong as a non-executive director to its board. Ms. Wong brings significant expertise and experience in finance, strategy and investor relations focused in the mining sector. She has a bachelor of commerce degree majoring in finance from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and is a CFA charterholder.

Gil Clausen, Plata Latina's chairman, commented: "We are pleased to have Letitia join the board and audit committee. Her background in finance and the capital markets will complement the expertise of our board and we welcome her to the team." The Plata Latina board of directors now comprises Gil Clausen (chairman), Robert B. Blakestad, Michael Clarke (president and chief executive officer), W. Durand Eppler and Letitia Wong. The company has also granted an aggregate of 225,000 stock options to the non-executive directors of the company. The options are exercisable at six cents per share for a period of five years expiring on March 2, 2020.
