Soap stars Bryan Murray and Una Crawford O’Brien discovered that love can be found in the most unlikely of places.

Both actors were already married when they met on set in 2005.

In the soap, her married character Renee Phelan went on to have an affair with Bryan's character Bob Charles, the husband of her old friend Emer.

“We hit it off immediately as friends,” Una revealed to the RTE Guide. “It certainly didn’t occur to us that it was more than that for quite a while.”

While Una doesn’t remember their first official date, but Bryan recalls that their courtship was “terribly romantic”:

“We went to Paris a few times and spent a lot of time together, it was lovely,” he said.

“It was all very gradual. I certainly didn’t expect that I was going to meet anyone else. I liked him as a friend first.”

The mum-of-two gushed that Bryan makes her laugh, supports her, and pushes her to pursue new opportunities, such as appearing on Charity You’re a Star.

The pair appeared on the second season of the show, performing classic hits such as ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.

Una and dad-of-five Bryan eventually moved in together in 2012, when they bought a house in Dublin.

The pair maintain that they are open about the reality of their relationship.

“Our other relationships ran their course,” former Brookside actor Bryan admits. “As Una says, this may not last, but I really hope that this one does. We’re open and honest about that.”

“I hope this relationship will continue,” Una adds. “But it mightn’t - I’m being completely honest here. I’m enjoying it and loving it...you don’t know what the future holds, you can only work on it.”
