Rain causes mercury to drop across Rajasthan, Mt Abu coldest at 8 degrees celsius
JAIPUR: Some parts of the state were drenched by moderate showers for the second consecutive day on Monday and this lead the mercury to dip. There was an average dip of 6 degrees celsius in the day temperature and almost that of 2 degrees Celsius in the early morning temperatures. Mount Abu in the hills while Jaisalmer in plains remained coldest in the state with minimum temperatures 8 and 11.4 degrees celsius respectively.

Attributing the cloudy conditions in the state during the first week of March to the active western disturbances and cyclonic circulation, Jaipur Met office said mild showers will continue lashing the state on Tuesday too.
Jaipurites woke up to a comparatively chilly morning as a minimum temperature of 13.3 degrees celsius, almost 2 degrees below the normal notch, was recorded. It was followed by a cloudy afternoon with a nip in the air as a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius, almost 5 degrees below the normal notch, was recorded. However, in its forecast, Jaipur Met office said that cloud cover is likely to vanish from the state during Tuesday. There has been a continuous dip in the mercury due to the last two days' rainfall unlike the situation before that when the maximum and minimum temperatures were rising by the day.
