Explosion outside Karachi school

KARACHI - Panic gripped Landhi after a low-intensity explosion outside the government school located at Gul Muhammad Goth within the limits of Sharafi Goth police station on Sunday.
The bomb was planted on the outer wall of the Government Girls Primary School which exploded with a loud bang. No loss of life was reported in the blast. Following the explosion, extra continent of law enforcers reached the site and cordoned off the crime scene. Bomb disposal squad collected evidence from the spot. According to BD experts, the bomb weighted around half kilogram of explosives and a detonating code was attached with it. Police officials, remained classless on the motive behind the incident. SHO Fateh Muhammad said that the police have inquired about the school administration but the school administration denied any kind of threat by anyone while a case has been registered and further investigation was underway.
Tortured body found
A body of a man was found dead from Northern Bypass within the limits of Mochko police station.
The deceased has yet to be identified. Police officials said that unidentified culprits after kidnapping the victim tortured and shot him before dumping his body. The body was moved to morgue for identification and autopsy.
Meanwhile, an alleged street criminal who was killed during an alleged encounter with the police in Gulshan-e-Iqbal has been identified as Muhammad Ali alias Shabbir Ahmed. His body was identified by his heirs at Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth. He was killed during an alleged encounter with the police a couple of days ago when he along with three companions were busy looting a passersby. The companions managed to escape.
A young man, namely Naimatullah has been arrested by Ittehad Town police for allegedly killing his uncle, Habib Gull. Naimatullah resident of the same area shot Habib over some pity issue and managed to flee while the police raided at a house and arrested him. Further investigations are underway.
Mishaps
A 50-year-old Sajida, wife of Iqbal died after a wall of her neighbor’s house collapsed on her when she was asleep at home located at C-1 Area in Liaquatabad.
Her body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and later handed over to her family for burial process.  On the other side, 40-year-old Zeeshan and Murtaza, 25, died while Memona, 37, and Zubair, 25, were injured during a collision between a car and a tractor at Super Highway near Ansari Bridge within the limits of Gadap City police station. Bodies and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsies and medical treatment.
Half dozen injured gangsters escape shootout
Nearly half dozen gangsters were wounded and later escaped, during a clash between two groups of Lyari and the police on Sunday.  The clash between Sheraz Comrade and Jabbar Jhengu groups took place at Aath Chowk area within the limits of Baghdadi police station.
During the clash, gangsters besides resorting to fire attacked each other with bombs. Following the clash police reached and cordoned off the area after which they attacked the police.
Gangsters resorted to fire and threw awan bombs at the police. However, no cop was wounded in the attack. Extra contingent of law enforcers were called at the site while the police retaliated with full force. During the clash and police retaliation, nearly half dozen gangsters were wounded. The injured included Zaheer, Mazhar, Rana and Kamran.
Panic gripped the locality following the clash while routine and commercial activities were suspended. The injured gangsters belong to Sheraz Comrade group, however, one of them, Zaheer, was said to be a closed aide of Comrade, who was recently released from jail. DSP Murtaza Mirani said that no one was arrested as the gangsters took injured companions to an undisclosed location for medical treatment while a case has been registered and further investigation was underway.
