The police on Sunday night arrested Sunil Antony (26), hostel warden of a private school in Yercaud, on the charge of causing the death of a 13-year-old boy on the school premises here on Saturday. V. Nallendran, a Class VII student, fell down from the roof and died on the way to hospital. Yercaud police registered a case of suspicious death and sent the body to Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital for autopsy. However, the boy’s relatives refused to accept the body on Sunday, demanding action against school officials. Rural DSP M. Chandrasekaran pacified them. Later, the police altered the sections to 304 (a) (causing death due to negligence) and arrested the warden. He was produced in court and lodged at Salem Central Prison. – Staff Reporter
