The Telugu Desam Party should withdraw its members from the Union Cabinet if it was peeved that the Centre was not according priority to A.P., rather than merely criticising the Centre in a bid to hoodwink people, YSRC leader M.V. Mysura Reddy said on Monday.
Dr. Reddy expressed solidarity with Kamalapuram MLA P. Raveendranatha Reddy, who continued his indefinite hunger strike at Veerapunayunipalle in Kadapa district for the second day on Monday seeking completion of Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi project and Sarvarayasagar reservoir.
He asked as to why the TDP was not pressurising the Centre to grant adequate funds, despite being an ally.
The YSRC leader alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had ignored the GNSS project for which TDP founder NTR laid foundation stone.
Mr. Naidu allotted a meagre Rs. 17 crore in nine years while he was in power, he said. Dr. Reddy wondered at the Chief Minister’s contention that he would release water to GNSS within six months and asked how he could release water to the project when its canals were not constructed. He charged the government with taking up Pattiseema project to benefit his partymen who were contractors.
