Missing minor traced in Aarey, medical test confirms rape

Varange registered a complaint of rape against unidentified persons with the Aarey sub-police station and circulated the girl’s photo among his policemen friends in an attempt to trace her. He found out that a missing person’s complaint had been filed in the girl’s name with the Sahar police on Sunday.

The police said the girl’s parents had reported her missing and on Monday a complaint of kidnapping was filed.

The victim told the police that an autorickshaw driver, known to her, lured her to him while she was playing outside her house on Sunday, promising to give her chocolates, and then took her to the Aksa beach, where he allegedly raped her. The driver then took her to the forest area in Aarey Colony, saying that he would show her a tiger, and abandoned her there.

“We have registered a case of rape, unnatural sex and kidnapping under the Indian Penal Code and have transferred it to the Sahar police station as the girl had been kidnapped from there,” said senior inspector Vilas Chavan.
