Cleric’s spat with wakf continues

LUCKNOW: Tension between Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawad and Shia Central Wakf Board chairperson Wasim Rizvi mounted on Monday. Jawad’s supporters did not allow Board officials to enter wakf Sajjadia Jadeed at Alamnagar locality for distributing land titles to poor widows. Later, a section of Shia clerics held a press conference and accused minorities welfare minister Azam Khan of using Board to implicate Jawab on false corruption charges.They also challenged the state government to order CBI probe into alleged corruption charges against Jawad and Board. A CBI probe will bring out truth as to who is corrupt, said Maulana Habib Haider head of the 7-member committee formed to counter Board's action against Jawad, who is keeping unwell. He pointed out that a CBCID probe has already found Board officials guilty of corruption and lodged FIRs but no arrests have been made under Azam’s pressure.
