RAWALPINDI:

An official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recorded his statement in the Benazir Bhutto murder case on Monday. FIA Director Admin (legal) Shabir Khan also presented mobile phone record of the then Rawalpindi DIG Saud Aziz to the anti-terrorism court.

The judge, Pervez Ismail Joya, cross examined the witness and made the mobile data part of the case.

The court then adjourned the case till Tuesday and summoned three more witnesses to record their statements.

Wisal Ahmad, mohtamim education at the Darul Uloom Haqqania seminary of Akora Khattak, had told the court on last hearing that the suspected suicide bomber Abdullah alias Saddam and his abettors Nadir alias Qari Ismail, Rasheed Ahmad alias Turabi and Faiz Muhammad had been students at the seminary. He, however, said that the madrassah did not have any association with them.

On Monday’s hearing, DIG Aziz, SP Khurram Shehzad, Aitezaz Shah, Sher Zaman, Rafaqat and other suspects were also present, along with former president Pervez Musharraf’s counsel Safdar Javed and FIA special prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar.
