RBI win all Gujarat open football tournament

AHMEDABAD: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) defeated Surat 5-4 in the sudden death tie-breaker to win the Jyoti Chalange Cup Open Gujarat Football Tournament held at Race Course Ground in Rajkot. Vijay Rathwa was declared the man-of-the-match of the final.
In the semifinal RBI defeated local outfit YCC 4-0 with Prakash Kotwal scoring a hat-trick and Rathwa netting one.
In the quarterfinal RBI got the better of St. Joseph FC 3-2 in the tie-breaker.
Before that RBI defeated Dempo Club of Surat 5-0 in the second round where Rajiv Karir scored a hat-trick and Rathwa scored a brace.
In the opening round, RBI drubbed Bharuch FC 10-0. In this match, Rathwa scored a hat-trick while Mohmed Hafiz, Karir and Nikhil Karkera scored a brace each and Rajesh Tadvi netted one goal.
Last year also RBI emerged winner in the same tournament.
