TinubuA member of the APC, Ahmed Ismail, on Monday described Femi Fani-Kayode’s claims of a hidden agenda by APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu, to become Nigeria’s President as mere hallucinations.

Ismael, who was a guest on Sunrise Daily, described Fani-Kayode’s allegations as preposterous, baseless and ridiculous.

“This is the very reason why a lot of people try to stay away from politics, thinking it is a heap of garbage, because people just sit down and hallucinate with something that has absolutely no basis in fact or (even) circumstances – just because they have access to the microphone or the treasury,” he said.

According to him, the claims were a mockery of the nation’s democratic progress.

“I think this is a mockery of democracy and the sacrifices that a lot of people have made to get us to where we are.”

He said that the Spokesman of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign, Fani-Kayode, was supposed to be speaking more about his team, noting that his comments had nothing to do with the “real issues” on ground.

“This country is facing the harsh reality of a very reckless government that has been in power for the last five years” and what they are talking about is a letter that is “absolutely not in existence”.

The alleged resignation letter which the PDP said will see Buhari’s running mate, Professor (Pastor) Yemi Osinbajo step down for APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu appears to be the ghost of a letter Buhari’s 2011 election running mate, Pastor Tunde Bakare refused to sign.

In further debunking the PDP claims, Ismael said that the 2011 issue had nothing to do with the current campaign.

He added that Pastor Bakare, who willingly divulged the information about the letter, was still a supporter of APC’s candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

He admitted that the atmosphere leading up to the elections were very competitive but the APC was working to arrest the drifting soul of the nation.
