Japan Football Association president Kuniya Daini said Sunday that talks with national coach candidate Vahid Halilhodzic are moving forward and he expects the Bosnian to be signed by March 12.

Speaking en route to the CONMEBOL Congress in Asuncion, Daini said he was briefed on progress by JFA technical director Masahiro Shimoda, who is handling the negotiations with France-based Halilhodzic.

"I think it should be all right," Daini said.

Daini said Saturday that the JFA is looking to rubber-stamp the former Algeria manager's appointment at the executive board meeting on March 12, ahead of the home friendlies against Tunisia and Uzbekistan on March 27 and 31, respectively.
