Three to get Nadoja on March 6

The Kannada University, Hampi, will confer the prestigious 'Nadoja' award on P. S. Shankar, M. H. Krishnaiah and S. R. Ramaswamy on March 6.

Dr. Shankar of Gulbarga is famous for medical literature; Prof Krishnaiah is a litterateur and critic; and Mr. Ramaswamy is a writer and journalist.

Governor and Chancellor Vajubhai R. Vala will confer the award - meaning `teacher to the land' and equivalent to a D.Litt - during the university's 23rd convocation, Vice-Chancellor H.C.Boralingaiah told a news conference on Monday.

Higher Education Minister and Pro Chancellor R. V. Deshpande will confer Ph. D and D. Litt degrees.

H. S. Shivaprakash, writer and professor from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, is to deliver the convocation (`nudi habba') address.
