SURAT: Small showers hit major parts of Surat and Navsari district on Sunday night after two days of cloudy atmosphere in the area. But for Kamrej taluka of Surat district that recorded significant 48mm of rain, other parts recorded just a few mm of rain after midnight.
The roads became wet and for a few minutes, satellite telecast of the channels was interrupted in many parts.

Olpad taluka of Surat district recorded 11mm and Jalalpore taluka of Navsari district recorded 6mm of rainfall.
With mercury dipping to 20.6 degree Celsius in the beginning of March just before Holi, large number of people in the city felt the chill and warm clothes came out again from the closet.
Officials of Meteorological department said that this weather would stay for a day or two. Any further showers of bigger magnitude could affect cash crops like mango and chickoo in the region.
