Some infrastructure sector stocks such as IVRCL, IL&FS Engineering, L&T, NCC and GVK were among those that registered gains in the morning trade on the BSE.
As the various provisions of the Union Budget sink in with regard to providing a thrust to the infra sector, these stocks seem to have shown some upside.
Companies with roads under their fold seemed to be doing better.
IVRCL shares were up Re 0.95 or 5.23% at Rs 19.10, while IL&FS Engineering moved up 0.40 per cent or Re 0.40 to Rs 101.40. L&T shares jumped 2.95 per cent or Rs 52.10 to Rs 1,819. Similarly, NCC added 2.85 per cent or Rs 2.25 to Rs 81.25. GVK Power and Infra was trading up 0.30 per cent at Rs 10.00.
