PESHAWAR - JUI-F Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sunday said that it would fully resist any action under the garb of 21th amendment against the sanctity and integrity of seminaries, asking the government to stop harassment of religious scholars and students.
A meeting of Provincial Executive Council of the JUI-F was held at here at party’s provincial secretariat with JUI-F Provincial Amir Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan in the chair.
Besides others the meeting was also attended by Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk, Maulana Rafiullah Qasmi, Maulana Rahat Hussain, Abdul Jalil Jan, and Maulana Amanullah Haqani.
The participants of the meeting formed committees for protection of seminaries, local bodies elections and upcoming Senate polls.
Speaking on the occasion, Naseeb said that the government had started unnecessary investigations and interference in the affairs of Madaris under the garb of 21th amendment in the Constitution.
“Religious institutions are the citadel of Islam imparting religious teaching to thousands of students in the country,” the JUI-F chief said and added that the JUI-F would make no compromise over the sanctity and integrity of seminaries.
He warned that they would launch a countrywide protest movement if the government did not stop malicious campaign against religious institutions and its students.
