Class X boy killed in firing by Nagas in Golaghat

A student of Class X was shot dead by Naga miscreants at Uriamghat under Sector B along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district on Saturday night.

JORHAT: A student of Class X was shot dead by Naga miscreants at Uriamghat under Sector B along the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat district on Saturday night.
The 15-year-old boy was identified as Moniruddin. He was studying in Class X at Haldhibari High School in Uriamghat in the district.
The incident took place at Hekato village located near Rengma Pani CRPF camp about 15 km from Uriamghat around 9.30 pm on Saturday.
Two armed Naga miscreants suddenly arrived at the village and opened fire, leaving the boy dead on the spot.
Police said the village where the incident took place was a Naga dominated area. “Hakato village is a Naga dominated village along the border. It is located about 3 km from the Rengma Pani CRPF camp,” said Golaghat superintendent of police P P Singh.
