JAMMU, Mar 1: A function to release “Ravi Ke Idhar Udhar”, a poetry book, was organized today by Yuva Hindi Lekhak Sangh, Jammu at Saigal Hall of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Balvinder, a well known Hindi poet and critic from Amritsar was the chief guest and Ramesh Mehta, a veteran poet and ex- secretary, Cultural Academy, presided over the function.
The programme started with welcome note by Sheikh Mohd Kaliyan, a well known Hindi poet of the State and president of YUHILE, Jammu.
During the function, a poetry book titled ‘Ravi Ke Idhar Udhar’ – a collection of poems by the poets from the places near to the river Ravi and situated in the States of J&K, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh was released.
The book has been compiled and edited by Prof Ashok Kumar, a well known Hindi poet of Jammu and Kashmir and Manoj Sharma, a well known Hindi poet of Punjab. Raj Kumar Behrupia, recited some of the poems included in this book.
The programme was attended by a large number of intellectuals, writers, artists and lovers of art and culture.
Prominent among the audience included Sanjeev Bhasin, Dr Sanjana Koul, Dr Pawan Khajuria, Dr Parvinder Kaur, Dr Nirmal Vinod, Jang S Verman, Arvind Sharma, Prof Renu Nanda, Raj Kumar Behrupia, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina and K K Shakir.
Amia Meha conducted the proceedings of the programme. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr Pawan Khajuria.
