GURGAON: Haryana Roadways has decided to discontinue 10 routes of its city bus service out of a total of 24 routes, in wake of poor response from commuters on those routes.
A senior official based out of the city bus depot said those routes that were incurring losses and failed to draw commuters’ response will be phased out. According to sources, the buses that will be relieved from these routes are likely to be deployed on remaining routes, so that they do not lie unutilized.

The director general of Haryana Roadways, Chander Prakash, has also queried city bus depot officials on the poor response of passengers to these routes. “There is no point running buses on loss-making routes,” said Trilok Chand, general manager of city depot of Haryana Roadways, Gurgaon.
The routes that are being discontinued include Dronacharya Metro station to bus stand via Sector 21; HUDA City Centre to Behrampur; HUDA City Centre to Manesar; HUDA City Centre to Palam Vihar and city bus stand to railway station.
These buses are likely to be put in use on routes such as Gurgaon to Kendriya Vihar, Gurgaon to Basai, Gurgaon to Palam Vihar and Gurgaon to Manesar.
