New train to Chhapra flagged off

The new tri-weekly train to Chhapra announced in Railway Budget 2014-15, 15053/15054 Lucknow Junction-Chhapra Express was flagged off by minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha from platform number 6 of Lucknow Junction station through videoconferencing from Manduadih railway station on Sunday.

LUCKNOW: The new tri-weekly train to Chhapra announced in Railway Budget 2014-15, 15053/15054 Lucknow Junction-Chhapra Express was flagged off by minister of state for railways Manoj Sinha from platform number 6 of Lucknow Junction station through videoconferencing from Manduadih railway station on Sunday.
The train will start regular operations from Lucknow Junction (LJn) From March 4 and from Chhapra from March 5.
It will depart from platform number 1 of LJn station and arrive at platform number 3.
While flagging off the train, MoS (Railways) said that NER has got a hike of 121% in the budget 2015-16 as compared to last year. Doubling between Varanasi and Allahabad will reduce travel time between cities by about an hour. Electrification of Allahabad-Chhapra section has also been sanctioned in this year’s budget. Besides, he said that trains which have 24 coaches at present will be augmented with two additional general class coaches.
