Raiganj: A 45-year-old man has been arrested in North Dinajpur district for allegedly sending an obscene picture to a lady District Magistrate on her mobile phone, police said on Sunday.
Abdul Khalek, a resident of Islampur, was arrested yesterday after the North Dinajpur DM lodged a complaint against him with Raiganj police station for sending the obscene picture to her on WhatsApp.
Inspector-in-charge of the police station Dipankar Chakravarty said Khalek, was arrested under provisions of the Information Technology Act.
The man was remanded in 14 days jail custody by the ACJM court here today.
