Slovakia's non-EU auto exports drop 6.4 percent in 11M

(MENAFN) Data by the Slovak central bank (NBS) showed that the country's non-European automobile exports dropped by 6.4 percent in the January-November period of 2014, Xinhua reported.

In terms of countries, the most drop was registered in Ukraine, in which exports plunged by almost 84 percent, while auto exports to the Russian market declined by about 21 percent.

In 2014, more than 970,000 vehicles were produced in Slovakia, which maintained its leading global position in terms of the number of cars produced per thousand inhabitants over the past couple of years.

"Slovakia lost its trade share in China last year, mainly in the field of more luxurious automobiles produced in Slovakia, exports for which dropped by more than one quarter," the NBS said.
