Areeba murder case: Key suspect Tooba, two accomplices appear in court

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore police on Sunday have presented the key suspect of Areeba murder case Izma Rao aka Tooba and her two accomplices Farooq and Zeeshan before the Duty Magistrate Court, Dunya News reported.

During the hearing, Farooq and Zeeshan pleaded innocence in the case by denying the allegations over them.

They further appealed the Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the case.

Subsequently, Majistrate Bushra Rao has handed over the suspects to the Lahore police on three-day physical remand.

During a press conference, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Rana Ayaz Saleem revealed that the suspect Tooba aka Izma Rao had conflicted relations with her husband Babar Javed Butt after the demise of her younger daughter.

Tooba told that Zeeshan arranged poison in an exchange of Rs20,000 to be given to Babar Javed Butt by Areeba whereas Areeba earlier showed her willingness in killing Tooba s husband but later refused to do so and had a quarrel with Tooba.

SSP Investigation further stated that the suspect Tooba killed her friend Areeba on January 12 and dumped her body at the Shera Kot bus station on January 13.

Investigation of Areeba murder case has also unveiled a murder of Yousaf, a private TV channel’s cameraman and a friend of Tooba’s husband.

Tooba, during the investigation, has alleged Areeba and Yousaf behind the murder of her younger daughter and admitted to killing the both.

Yousaf had sent Tooba’s indecent photographs to her husband Babar Javed, on which Tooba gave poisoned juice to Yousaf.

Babar Javed Butt told the police that Tooba had also attempted to kill him before.

Moreover, police have completed the investigation of Areeba murder case by registering a murder case against Tooba, Farooq and Zeeshan.

Earlier, police also conducted polygraph test of the suspects to know the level of truth and lie in their statements.
