March 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - New Delhi:

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday met DMRC chief Mangu Singh to discuss the ongoing and future projects of the Metro.

During the meeting, Mr. Kejriwal advised Mr. Singh to speed up projects to provide better transportation facilities in the Capital, a senior official said. The Chief Minister is also said to have discussed the Metro’s expansion, especially in rural areas, a promise made by the Aam Aadmi Party in its poll manifesto. He also discussed other issues and promises made by the party during the Assembly polls.

During the elections, the AAP had promised that an effective combination of share autos, Metro feeder services, and e-rickshaws would be put in place to provide last-mile connectivity. The party had also promised that senior citizens, students and persons with disability would be provided concessional passes on buses and in the Metro. — PTI
