: PMK leader S. Ramadoss on Friday urged the Indian government to convey in no uncertain terms the country’s relationship with Sri Lanka would be severely affected if the attack on Tamil fishermen continued.

Condemning the arrest of fishermen from Nagapattinam and Karaikal areas by the Sri Lankan Navy, Dr Ramadoss said even the defeat of Mahinda Rajapaksa had not changed the situation for the Tamil fishermen.

“When Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, he should find a permanent solution for the Tamil fishermen problem,” he said.
