March 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - KURNOOL:

T.C. Rajan, veteran socialist and former MLA, has said the hopes of Constitution-makers were belied with effecting 122 amendments in 65 years.

Addressing a meeting organised on the occasion of the death anniversary of Gadicharla Harisarvothama Rao here on Saturday, he said on every pretext the Constitution was amended. He said that even though democracy and socialism were two noble concepts both could not be accommodated in a single society. He said India badly handled the Kashmir issue and had no foresight about Tibet which wanted to join the Indian union. He said the political parties which enlisted the services of ‘anti-social’ elements emerged stronger sending a message across the country that only the bad elements could rule the country.

Foundation office bearers K.C. Kalkura, Ravi Sarada and others were present.
