The 12th edition of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition that ended Saturday attracted more than 40,000 visitors, a spokesperson for the organisers said.
Held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al -Thani, the show was inaugurated by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani on February 23 in the presence of Qatar Tourism Authority chairman Issa bin Mohamed al-Mohannadi and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) CEO Abdulaziz bin Nasser al-Khalifa .
Hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority, q.media Events and Fira Barcelona at the Qatar National Convention Centre, the exhibition brought an extraordinary collection of jewellery and timepieces from world-renowned luxury jewellery houses and elite watch brands to Qatar.
Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition proved once again that as a prominent luxury exhibition, it was able to match the high standards of the European exhibitions in terms of the number of visitors and participating brands. The exhibition continues to grow year after year, and is recognised as one of the most significant events that attracts the pioneers of the jewellery and watch industry around the world. This year’s edition was worth over $2 bn dollars.
Covering an extensive area of 42,914sqm ranging from hall 3 to hall 7, and with more than 500 participating brands, this event is seen as a prime one in the region.
Ibrahim Abdullah al-Malki, chief enterprise officer, q.media, said: “The Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition is recognised as one of key events in Middle East and worldwide. We as organisers have given our best to put up an outstanding show for both exhibitors and visitors.”
Apart from being given the golden chance to adore and appreciate the master craftsmanship and creativity of the collections on display, visitors were equally entertained by a social media contest conducted by the organisers.
Sawaid Qatar chairman Moaidh Jubran al-Qahtani spoke about their participation in Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition which he considered to be one of the most important events for his team. He said that their participation had a positive impact on the team of Sawaid Qatar in terms of including the voluntary processes and contributing to the smooth functioning of the event.
The five-day exhibition that was held from February 24 to 28 saw many regional and international brands unveil their collection of novelty pieces in the region.
Given the facility of online registration, VIP visitors were surprised at the express check in and appreciated the shuttle bus service provided between the parking area and the main entrance.
The world’s premium brands that were present at the exhibition include Cartier, Chanel, Graff, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Christian Dior, Faberge, David Morris, Panerai, Van Cleef & Arpels, Jaeger Lecoulture, Boucheron, Pasquale Bruni, Hublot, Parmigiani, Patek Philippe, ChronoSwiss, Korloff, Ferre Milano, Chatila, Royal Diamond, Montegrappa, Al Zain Jewellery, Matis Jewellery, David Webb and Versailles Jewellery among many others.
Amongst the list of brands debuting for the first time were Jaipur Gems, Altinbas, Jean Paul Gaultier, Davidoff, Fendi, Phillipe Royal, Shenoy, Tellus, Swarovski, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rochas, Saint Honore, Cover, Charles Jourdan, Grovana, Seculus, Westend, Domaskenos, Cabestan, Al Bidaa Swords & Gifts, Valbray, Dietrich, Golden Dreams Geneva , Dust Kreations, AKM Mehrasons, Al Khudairy Jewellery, Al Tawash, Brusco, Cvstos, Hafner, Hodel, KGK, Lithos, Mattia Cielo, Malpani, Manufacture Royale, Maitres du Temps, Schoeffel, Speake Marine, Vacheron Constantin, Yeprem , Yessayan, Suzanne Kalan, Rosy Blue, Dar Al Majid Fine Jewellery, Breva, Brioni, Jean Paul Menucci, Laviere, Roaln Iten, Yvan Tufenkjian.
