Teacher attempts to rape six-year-old, arrested

VADODARA: A teacher in Tarapur town of Anand district was arrested on Friday after he tried to rape a six-year-old girl on the school campus in the town.
The girl studying in standard one of a trust-run school was about the leave for home on Thrusday evening when the physical education teacher Sanjay Rathod allegedly offered her a sweet.
Rathod allegedly took the victim to a room in the school and tried to rape her there.The girl reached home late and was very disturbed. She narrated the incident to her parents who in turn spoke to persons close to them in the town.
The teacher was nabbed by a group of persons on Friday morning and handed over to the police. The teacher was arrested by the police and booked for attempt to rape under the Indian Penal Code as well as provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
