Bhardwaj, who is an alumna of Hindu, did not make the students wait for too long. "I feel very nostalgic, coming back here after some 20-30 years. I still remember what all we used to do and be like back then.
Main bahut shormachatithi. I spent most of my college years in the college canteen and at the sports ground. Sports ground because Vishal (Bhardwaj) used to love playing cricket. And there used to be a small dhaba behind the college where we would go eat. I have missed this place and this energy a lot. It feels great to be back here," the singer said to a hooting audience.
The singer started with some of her older Bollywood numbers and then moved to some of the more recent ones, like Kabira and Darling. Although a large number of students from across DU had come to watch Rekha perform, there were no security issues. Richa, a third-year student said, "I don't know if the crowd is so well-behaved because the security is incredibly tight or because she is not one of those singers who jump around a lot on the stage."
