St. Lucia slated as venue for 2-day Dental Event

Canadian-based Saint Lucian, Rosula (Rossie) Morgan, Head of operations and founder of Mors CE Services rallies more support from the local dental community as the date of a major dental symposium draws near. In association with the St. Lucia Medical and Dental Association, a two-day Dental Professional Development event will take place from Friday 17 to Saturday 18 April, 2015 at the Bay Gardens Hotel.

It is the intention of Ms. Morgan to have the event introduce qualified dental specialists and professionals as guest speakers, willing to share their knowledge with the participants. She is encouraging the dental community of St. Lucia and the rest of the Caribbean islands to take advantage of the opportunity this event has to offer.

Dr. Victor H. Eastmond, Chairman of Caribbean Dental Program Inc. will be present with opening remarks. The lecturers include Dr. Sam Kratchman, Associate Professor of Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania who is also in charge of their microsurgical program; Dr. John Odai, an Endodontics Specialist prominently known in the Canadian national capital of Ottawa; Dr. Nancy Boodhoo who is affiliated with the Medical Protection Society (MPS) and is the Head of Operations for the Caribbean and Bermuda dealing with medical and dental matters; Layla Ferguson, Barrister residing in the UK but of St. Lucian descent; Dr. Mira Ghaly, Periodontics Specialist, board certified by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and the American Board of Periodontology; and Jessica Lund, a CDA Health Care Professional and owner of 1st On the Scene, a health and safety training company, well-known and respected within the health care community in Ottawa.

Participants are urged to register for the hands-on Endo courses where space is limited and also the two-day lectures to obtain their 12CE credits. Lectures include 3-D Endodontics; Consent & Record Keeping; The Term ‘Next of Kin’ -what it means legally to you, the Dentist; Periodontal Assessment & Links to Systemic Diseases; and Infection Prevention and Control. Participants are encouraged to join in the social events with a Welcome Cocktail on Friday evening and to also enjoy the scenic beauty of St. Lucia with a sunset cruise, nature trails and more.
