Three killed in multiple vehicle collision

Three persons were killed in a multiple vehicle collision at Vazhapadi here on early Friday.

The lorry from Chennai to Salem was nearing Thammampatti when it hit a two-wheeler coming from Attur to Vazhapadi. This resulted in the death of rider P. Selvamurugan on the spot. Also, a car hit the rear side of the lorry. Satheesh Kumar (33) of Coimbatore and Kingston (34) of Thiruvannamalai, both in the car, died on the spot while Karthick (33) suffered serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital. Traffic was disrupted on the Salem — Ulundurpet National Highway as Vazhapadi police rushed to the spot and removed the bodies and sent to hospital for autopsy. Traffic was restored after an hour. The police have registered a case.
