A fund raising charity musical evening has been jointly organised by Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis Trust and Ganga Hospital at Hotel The Residency from 6.30 p.m. on March 1 to perform reconstructive surgery for burn deformities. Staccato from Chennai will perform at the event.

Celebrated

National Science Day was celebrated by the Department of Physics of Bharathiar University on Friday. Psychiatrist S. Ananth spoke on the importance of the brain with a pictorial presentation of the parts of the human brain.

Conference

International retinal specialties and research scholars will be elaborating on retina and UVEA at international conference Eye Trendz 2015, organised by Lotus Eye Hospital and Institution at Hotel Taj Vivanta here on February 28 and March 1.

Institution Day

The 20{+t}{+h}Institution Day of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was recently celebrated on the varsity premises. Chief guest of the event Vice-President and Head of Coimbatore Operations, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Vishnu Potty, encouraged students to plan for their future and focus on having clear goals and work towards achieving the same. He advised students to treat challenges as opportunities and make use of fantastic offered by the institution.

Registrar of the university S. Krishnamoorthy also spoke.

Launched

Actor and Director S.Ve. Shekar launched ‘The Nava Bharathian’ the school magazine of Nava Bharath International School at a programme that was recently organised at the school.
