Self-governance standards and ethics play a dominant role in preventing corporate fraud, Chairman, Intellectual Property Appellate Board, K.N. Basha, said here on Friday.
Inaugurating the Tarka Sastra, national-level moot court competition, organised by the School of Law at the SASTRA University, Mr. Basha spoke on the heinous nature of corporate crimes, which concerned the jurisdiction of SEBI and listed the history of scandals relating to company law affairs.
The former Judge of the Madras High Court recalled many landmark judgments of the Supreme Court in prosecuting the offending companies.
The National Level Moot Court Competition is spread over the weekend and in the finals the winning team would be awarded with a cash prize and trophy.
Over 16 law schools from all over the country are participating in this edition of the competition which is centred around Corporate Crimes and Company Law.
